Professional Focus and Approach

Dr. Lin prioritizes a research-driven and individualized approach, ensuring that every assessment and recommendation is grounded in evidence and tailored to the person’s unique strengths and needs. She completed specialized training in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) at the University of Calgary in 2021, enhancing her ability to assess and support neurodiverse individuals with precision and empathy.

Having completed her Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University in June 2025, Dr. Lin now trains as a resident physician specializing in Psychiatry at McMaster University. Her dual background allows her to integrate modern medical knowledge with psychological science, providing a holistic approach that spans both diagnostic formulation and therapeutic care.

Specializations

Dr. Lin conducts comprehensive psychoeducational and neurodevelopmental assessments for clients of all ages. Her areas of expertise include learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and emotional or behavioural challenges. Drawing from her medical and psychometric experience, she is uniquely equipped to recognize the intersection between mental health and cognitive functioning. As a psychiatry resident, she integrates medical insight into her assessments, identifying co-occurring psychiatric conditions, informing treatment planning, and collaborating closely with hospital-based and community care teams to ensure continuity of support.

Dr. Lin earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Western University, a Master of Science (MSc) in Neurosciences from McGill University, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Life Sciences from Queen’s University. Her academic and professional journey reflects a deep commitment to understanding the brain-mind connection from both psychological and medical perspectives.

Through her work in both clinical psychiatry and psychological assessment, Dr. Lin brings a unique, integrative lens to her practice — one that merges neuroscience, medicine, and psychology to promote comprehensive mental health and learning outcomes. Whether in the hospital or the clinic, she remains dedicated to empowering individuals through understanding, compassion, and evidence-based care.
