To respect clinician time and allow availability for other clients, all appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Counselling Appointments Late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) are billed at 50% of the session fee. Missed appointments or no-shows are billed at 100% of the session fee. Assessment Appointments Late cancellations or missed assessment appointments are subject to a flat $150.00 fee. Cancellation fees are not covered by insurance and must be paid by the client directly.

Upon booking, you'll receive intake, consent, and insurance forms. Psychoeducational assessments take approximately 4 hours, split into two sessions, while other assessments average 2 hours. Licensed psychologists, psychological associates, and trained psychometrists ensure a cohesive and comprehensive diagnosis.

Assessment results are typically available within two to three weeks after testing. At VMA Psych, we are committed to delivering timely and thorough psychological services.

Recognizing the importance of clear communication, we offer psychologist-led meetings with your child’s school, providing insights, recommendations, and accommodations guidance. We are also available for IEP meetings.

Yes, we provide virtual appointments through our secure Owl Practice portal. This platform ensures confidentiality and adheres to the highest standards set by the College of Psychologists of Ontario, offering you a safe and convenient way to access our services.

We accept all private insurance that covers mental health services, including providers like Manulife, Sunlife, Canada Life, and more. To ensure coverage, it's helpful to contact your insurance provider and inquire about the psychological services they cover, the hourly maximum they will pay, and who is covered in your family. Please note that we do not do direct billing or work with OHIP.
