Upon booking, you'll receive intake, consent, and insurance forms. Psychoeducational assessments take approximately 4 hours, split into two sessions, while other assessments average 2 hours. Licensed psychologists, psychological associates, and trained psychometrists ensure a cohesive and comprehensive diagnosis.
Yes, we offer virtual appointments through our secure portal hosted by Owl Practice. Owl Practice provides mental health professionals with a secure ecosystem to host sessions and connect with patients. All sessions and communications are confidential, adhering to the regulation and supervision standards of the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
We accept all private insurance that covers mental health services, including providers like Manulife, Sunlife, Canada Life, and more. To ensure coverage, it's helpful to contact your insurance provider and inquire about the psychological services they cover, the hourly maximum they will pay, and who is covered in your family. Please note that we do not do direct billing or work with OHIP.
At VMA Psych, we prioritize your confidentiality by adhering to the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) and Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). Physical files are securely stored, digital records are encrypted and password-protected, and communications are conducted through secure platforms. Before starting services, clients review and sign a confidentiality agreement detailing how information is protected and when disclosure may be required by law.
