Get to Know Irene Canepa
Irene specializes in women's mental health, gender and sexual diversity. Her research has focused on sexism, gender bias and intimate partner violence. She is experienced in counselling and assessment for children, adolescents and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, learning disabilities.
Irene approaches her practice from a position of hope and openness to change. She focuses on her client's unique strengths and interests to help them reach their goals. She utilizes strategies and interventions from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Humanistic-Experiential Therapy.
She studied psychology in Argentina, where she received extensive training in different settings. She provides counselling in Spanish and English. She has presented research along with her colleagues at the International Research Congress of the School of Psychology at the National University of La Plata, Argentina.

Irene has practiced psychometry for 5+ years under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Vincent Murphy (C. Psych), and Brian Crowe (C. Psych Assoc.)
